Twas brillig . . .

The darling church girls devoured my toffee cookie bars this week and the poetry activity I cooked up. Since I'm not a fan of serious poetry, we stuck to the silly rhyming stuff. We read some Shel Silverstein and I did my recitation of the Jabberwocky by Lewis Carroll. Then the girls wrote their own acrostic poems (new word for me!)

In other church-related news, I had a fascinating discussion about theology over lunch today with a coworker. He's Seventh Day Adventist.

And tonight I'm off to a women's church retreat with ladies from all over the region. I just hope the middle-aged moms thrilled to be free of their husbands and kids for a weekend don't keep me up all night with their giggling, because I'm way too old for that. And besides, my mom never let us go to sleep overs, so I haven't a clue how to behave. If only I'd paid more attention to High School Musical. . .
