Yeah, mon!

Just back from five days in Jamaica with my sister. Here's a summary of how we spent our time.

We stayed at the most charming little resort called the Royal Decameron with our own little hut, private patio and hammocks. The buffet was seemingly endless, with enough variety to make up for the mediocre quality. Personally, I haven't completely unplugged like that in years. It was SO relaxing and just what I needed. Plus, can you beat 80 degrees and sunshine? It's no wonder Jamaicans are so laid back. No need to hurry when you live in paradise.

I've posted more photos on my Snapfish account here.

Quick updates

I've been filling in for a coworker the last week and a half, which means reporting to work at 4:15 a.m. and it's kinda sapped all the energy out of me. You know you're tired when when writing a quick little blog post seems like too much work . . .

But I've mustered the willpower to at least put these quick photos up. On Saturday a friend asked me to watch her 4-year-old twins. I took them to see a play about pirates at the Children's Theatre.

It was a fun show - but who doesn't like pirates, right? Afterward we stopped off in the library to read a few books.
And on a completely unrelated note, another dear friend stopped by with an awesome "early birthday present" last week. Since my birthday's in August, she figured I get more use out of a fuzzy pink bathrobe right now . . . with the temps hovering stubbornly around 30 degrees. She was right. I wear it whenever I'm at home - on top of whatever other clothes I'm wearing. Sometimes I almost forget to take it off when I leave the house. Not that the people at work would mind. It's heavenly!
