If I hadn't heard this on NPR today, I would never have believed it:
President Reagan's life was saved by a movie he made 42 years before.
Get this for coincidence. In 1939, Reagan starred in the movie "Code of the Secret Service" He said it was one of his worst films. But a 10 year old kid in Florida named Jerry Parr loved it and decided he would become a secret service man when he grew up. And he did.
In 1981, Jerry Parr was the secret service agent who pushed Pres. Reagan into the car after he was shot and rushed him to the hospital, saving his life.
If you don't believe me, listen to this.
Call it fate, coincidence or divine intervention. I just can't believe someone hasn't made it into a movie yet.
