Springtime!

Listening to the NPR music podcast while jogging through the park this morning I had the most pleasant of surprises.

On came "Poisoning Pigeons in the Park" by satirist Tom Lehrer.

My dad had a Tom Lehrer record that pleased my young, twisted mind to no end. "Poisoning Pigeons" was always a favorite. But may I humbly suggest "I Hold Your Hand in Mine"?

It's a showstopper.

Gross Julie! What kind of Dad makes his little ones listen to this stuff on road trips? I shudder thinking about the guy eating her fingernails.

I love it!! I TOTALLY remember the hand song and some other way weird songs that when Dad sang in his soft voice seemed perfectly normal to me. I thank Dad a diverse interest in many different music types - murder and all.
