I couldn't look at that big FedEx box any longer, and I had an inkling there might be some chocolate inside. So I caved. But it's Christmas Eve and opening presents today is okay in many cultures, so I don't feel badly. In fact, I feel thrilled and sugared-up. My dear, dear friend who really doesn't know when to say "when" sent me this amazing stash.
The Shakespearean Insults mug is hysterical - watch out next time you make me mad. I might call you "light of brain" or a "highly fed and lowly taught."
The Penguin thing holds a tea bag and has a timer so it lifts the bag when the tea is perfectly steeped. Brilliant!
And then there's a mountain of Rocky Mountain Chocolate treats including chocolate-covered cinnamon bears, of course, and oreos and toffee and hot chocolate and it's 9:45 a.m. but I've already tried it all.
PLUS, the first season of The Guardian featuring the tasty man from The Mentalist.
I am SO SPOILED! And I already got a package of amazing lotions from my mom and back there on the mantle are two presents from my sister I'm waiting until tomorrow to open.
Now, if only I could stay home all day and eat chocolate and watch The Guardian.
But alas, I'm heading in to work. When I get off at 7 p.m. tonight I'm going to catch midnight mass, since it was such a highlight for me last year. . . the music and ambiance are the perfect capstone to Christmas.
Tomorrow morning I'll be having brunch with a family from church and then off to work. When I get off at 7, I'm going to join another of my surrogate Charlotte families for some post-Christmas hanging out. Maybe we'll see a movie. . . the new Sherlock Holmes is at the top of my list.
Merry Christmas to all!
