missing them already

I can't remember a more restful, rejuvenating vacation than the week I just spent at home in Utah. I got a chance to see all of my siblings and even a few extended relatives and spent lots and lots of quality time with the whole gang of nieces and nephews that can make me smile unlike anything else in this world.

A few highlights of the trip:

Took the short, steep hike to the 'Y' and gasped enough thin, dry Utah air to nearly collapse a lung.

Made fresh peach pie from my sister's tree and spent a morning bottling applesauce with my other sister who's on a homemaking kick.

Tasted my way through the cherry tomato plants in each of my siblings' gardens and declared a winner: the juicy, sweet, slightly tangy yellow ones in Liz's yard.

Watched
Watcher in the Woods for the first time since grade school. It's not nearly as scary as I remembered . . . even when watched outside.

Ate street tacos from my favorite spot in SLC.

Filled my face with chocolate-covered cinnamon bears from the BYU candy counter.

Spent nearly every morning at the park with my four youngest nieces and nephews, my mom and 32 ounces of diet Mountain Dew.
